Our team brings over 34 years of hands-on experience and heart to each case, providing private guardianship services that are ethical, personalized, and community-focused. Meet our Leadership below:

Our Founder: Michelle Morris

In 1991, Michelle Morris established Guardianship Associates of Utah (GAU), becoming the founder of the state’s first—and still only—non-profit agency dedicated exclusively to guardianship and conservatorship services. With over three decades of experience, Michelle has provided compassionate, hands-on support to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging adults, and others in need of protective services.

Her expertise extends beyond guardianship: she has served as a conservator and trust executor for more than 34 years, managing complex financial and legal matters with integrity and care.

In recognition of her lifelong commitment and impact, Michelle was honored as Guardian of the Year in 2017 by the National Guardianship Association and the Center for Guardianship Certification—a prestigious national award that reflects her profound contributions to both the Utah community and the field of guardianship.

Maddie Ostler, Executive Director

Maddie Ostler joined Guardianship Associates of Utah in early 2016, bringing with her a lifelong passion for advocacy within the disability community. As Executive Director, Maddie serves as a Professional Guardian and leads GAU’s educational initiatives, including our specialized Pro Se Training programs.

She has worked extensively with state agencies such as the Office of Public Guardian, Department of Human Services, and Department of Services for People with Disabilities (DSPD), and brings a wealth of experience navigating complex systems of support.

Maddie is currently the only TBI-certified Legal Guardian in the State of Utah (through DSPD), a distinction that underscores her commitment to serving individuals with integrity, empathy, and expertise. Known for her unwavering advocacy, Maddie is a leading voice for ethically grounded, client-centered guardianship and conservatorship practices throughout the state.

Brooke Moon, Associate Director

Brooke Moon has been a dedicated Professional Legal Guardian with Guardianship Associates of Utah for over 20 years. Her journey into guardianship began through hands-on experience in direct care for individuals with disabilities—including her own brother—which deeply shaped her commitment to this field.

With decades of experience and a strong personal connection to her work, Brooke is a fierce and compassionate advocate for the rights and dignity of those she serves. Her unwavering passion continues to drive her efforts to ensure every individual receives the respectful, person-centered care they deserve.

Tiffin Tullis, CPA

Tiffin Tullis has been an integral part of Guardianship Associates of Utah since 2010. As a Certified Public Accountant, she brings a sharp financial acumen and unwavering attention to detail to the organization’s operations.

Tiffin plays a vital role in ensuring GAU’s financial integrity and transparency, helping to manage complex fiduciary responsibilities with precision and care. Her expertise supports the agency’s mission to deliver ethical, accountable guardianship and conservatorship services across Utah.
